Community Outreach Educational Services
Broward County Solid Waste and Recycling Services and Partner Cities offer a wide range of outreach educational programs that explore the ways in which residential garbage is disposed of in Broward County and why it’s so important that it be disposed of properly. These free outreach programs are available to meet the needs of community groups, summer camps, day care centers, charter schools, private schools, local organizations and other special event audiences.
Offerings include:
- Free, interactive Wonderful World of Waste (WWOW!) presentations that provide a fascinating look at the innovative systems in place for dealing with the garbage generated by Broward County's large population, including information recycling, waste-to-energy plants and landfills
- Displays and event booths (for career days, school fairs and other special events)
- Educational literature
- Promotional giveaways made from recycled materials
- Hands-on interactive games
- Arts and crafts activities
